Our C2 Travel Team and Home Team along with family members and friends gathered before sunrise this morning to share in prayers of love and support before our travel team departed at 4:00 am for BWI airport.
Cindy Dohony, this year's Home team leader, led the group in a prayer for travel safety, spiritual strength, and joy and blessing for God's work that awaits them at summer camp. Home Team members drove our travelers to the airport, and with warm hugs and lasting words of support, the team was off on a 6:00 am flight to Miami.
As they landed in Miami, the travelers were treated to the sight of a beautiful rainbow from the window of the plane. The first of many amazing gifts that God has in store for our missionaries!
The team arrived ahead of schedule in Miami. After a slight delay leaving the Miami airport, they arrived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital, at 1:00 pm. They were greeted at the airport by Father Effener and his friends. Now in the loving arms of good friends from our sister parish, the team is prepared to embark on the 4½ hour drive from Port-au-Prince to the country village of Labrande.
The travel team is relieved and energized to be on the ground in Haiti. We expect them to arrive in Labrande this evening. At this point the team has been on the road and in the air for a total of nine hours out of a travel day that will total 14-15 hours.
We will be sure to post updates here once we have them. Let us continue to pray for our travelers, Kelli, Kelsey, Carly, John, and team leader Carol. May God bless them with the strength and energy to continue their travels and may He bless the trip and its purpose.
Post your prayers for our missionaries in the comments.
