Why Should I Say ‘Yes’

Last week we asked if God was calling you to missions and summarized a few of the reasons to say “yes” to a trip. As we approach the NativityMissions trips planned for 2016, we will take a deeper look at some of the very important reasons you should consider taking a leap of faith and applying to go on a trip. This week we will explore the topic of building relationships.

“It is not good that man should be alone.”
-Genesis 2:18

From the very beginning, God created us with a deep need for relationships. We were created to be in relationship with God, ourselves, one another, and the rest of creation. A mission trip provides a unique opportunity to explore each of these relationships without the distractions of our daily lives.

Once on your trip, you will meet dozens of people who have a completely different culture than you, but share the same burning faith and love for God. Our partners around the world love us as much as we love them and they can’t wait to meet us when we arrive! These connections are instant and they are made regardless of language barriers. You will make lifelong friends with the people you meet on your trip as well as your fellow travelers.

Stepping away from your normal, busy routine can also give you the chance to focus on your relationship with God. Getting away can give you some much needed quiet time to pray and talk to God in a way that you might not be able to at home. He will be with you every step of your journey. You will look to Him for comfort when things are difficult and thank and praise Him for the joyous moments of the trip.

Relationships are the foundation of being a missionary and the core of the work you will do on your trip. Click here to fill out an application for one of next year’s trips.
