Why Should I Say ‘Yes’

So you’ve been contemplating and praying about whether or not you should apply for one of our summer mission trips. Let’s explore another reason to say “yes” to applying for a trip: brokenness.

The human relationship with brokenness goes all the way back to the beginning. When Adam and Eve sinned in Genesis, they broke their relationship with God, with themselves, with each other, and with the rest of creation. Because of this, each one of us is broken.

You probably experience brokenness in your everyday life. Although you may not be affected by material poverty (lack of resources such as food or healthcare), you know what it’s like to live in spiritual poverty (greed, fear, resentment).

In missions, we seek restoration for the problems of our world that stem from sin and broken relationships. God wants us to work against brokenness by proclaiming in word and deed the message of the Gospel and sharing His love with all you encounter.

Jesus tells the disciples, “But you shall receive the power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). God’s plan is to bring restoration to our hurting world, and His strategy is to use you to do it!

Take a step toward healing brokenness. Click here to apply for one of our trips.

Baltimore City Prayer Walks

NativityMissions has a great way to get involved in praying for our city. Baltimore City Prayer Walks with Bishop Madden are held monthly and are wonderful opportunities to move through our neighborhoods, united in prayer, asking God to bring blessings and healing to the city.

All are welcome to join us as we walk through neighborhoods and pray for peace with a large group from churches across Baltimore City. There will be worship, readings, and prayer. The walk will travel through our own community with visitation to places that have been sites of great spiritual blessings as well as places that have been sources of inner city strife.

This month, the prayer walk will be on Wednesday February 17th at 5:30pm. We will meet at St. Ignatius Church located at 740 N. Calvert Street. A light dinner will be served at 5:30pm and the walk will begin at 6:00pm.

Come pray with us!

40 Hours of Prayer

To kick off the season of Lent, Nativity is hosting a time of prayer and adoration in the main sanctuary called 40 hours of prayer. Starting on Wednesday February 10 at 6:00 am and running through Thursday February 11 at 10:00 pm, the sanctuary will be open for 40 continuous hours of prayer. There will be a mix of quiet prayer, Eucharistic adoration, sung, and spoken prayer. Hours will be marked by the celebration of Mass, confessions will be available, and ashes will be distributed hourly.

NativityMissions is proud to be hosting an hour during the 40 hours of prayer event. This will take place on Wednesday February 10 at 8:00 am. We will be praying for various intentions including praying for all of our local, national, and international partners.

If you can’t join us in person, Nativity will be streaming the whole 40 hours on live.churchnativity.tv.
