The 410 Bridge: Maternal Healthcare Training

As we gather with our families to celebrate Mother's Day, we thought this would be the perfect time to share an inspiring story from our partners at The 410 Bridge.

Maggie Wanja is the coordinator for the Health and Wellness program in all of the communities that 410 Bridge partners with in Kenya. She started a program called, Maternal Healthcare Training. Maggie saw a need for this particular program because many of the mothers in the community suffered from a lack of knowledge on how to care for themselves through pregnancy, birth, and raising their newborn children.

Maggie is a wonderful teacher who shares vital information and patiently answers the questions of the new mothers and the mothers-to-be. The mothers in the communities feel grateful to have her and are so thankful to have this educational opportunity. Maggie's goal for Maternal Healthcare Training in the communities is to increase knowledge, reduce maternal mortality rates, and increase hospital deliveries.

Take a minute to watch this short video about Maggie's amazing work. And from our family to yours, Happy Mother's Day!
